The main biographical stages

Sergey Katanandov worked in building brigades during his student years, was a secretary of the Comsomol bureau of the faculty. He began working in 1977 as a foreman of a building-montage management of the trust Petrozavodskstroy. Since 1978 had worked as a construction superintendent and a head construction superintendent of the BMM. Since 1982 he has been a chief engineer of the BMM. Since 1985 - a chief engineer of the trust Petrozavodskstroy. Since 1989 he has been a chief of a project-building unification of large panel houseconstruction.

He was elected as a deputy of the Petrozavodsk Town Soviet in 1988. In June of 1990 he was elected as the Head of the Executive Committee of the Petrozavodsk People's Deputies Soviet. In April of 1994 he was elected as the Head of the local government of Petrozavodsk. He was elected as the Head of the Government of the Republic of Karelia in May, 1998.
