A Book About the Republic of Karelia will be Published
On June 8 2000 our republic will celebrate its holiday - the Day of the Republic.
To celebrate this date a book is being prepared for publication by the National archive of the Republic of Karelia and the scholars of the Karelian branch of Russian Academy of Science. Karelian historical development since the beginning of the XXth century up to the present day will be revealed in the book.
The most significant events and dates from the life of the republic will be included in the book.
Photos from the archive funds will help a reader to see how the people of our republic lived and worked, were at war and at rest. It's possible someone will see one's relatives or acquaintances. A number of photodocuments will be published for the first time.
