During August 24-29, 1218,4 tons of fish and seaproducts were caught by the Karelian boats in the Barents and Norwegian seas. The Karelian fisherment catch cod and herring near Spizbergen island by three boats of JSC "Karelribflot" and one boat of OJSC "North-western fish company
". Total catch of herring for the current period of time has made 591,9 tons, since the beginning of the year - 6760,9 tons. The herring catch has been increased by 3340 tons in comparison with the same period of the last year. Besides, the shrimp catch is going on by the boats of OJSC "Unifish", OJSC "Sever-trust", OJSC" North-western fish company ". The expected results were fulfilled by 102,3%.
During January-July, 2001 the enterprises of fish industry of the republic has supplied 28913,1 tons of fish products, including 16249,7 tons for export. Fish products delivery for inner Karelian market has more than two times increased.
The volume of delivery for social institutions of closed types,financed by the republican budget and carried out by JSC "Karelribtorg" has been increased by 185% in comparison with 2000.
The expected results have been fulfilled by 114,6% during eight months of the current year.
Financial assistance from the means of the state support of fish industry of the Republic of Karelia for the fish-breeding farms has made 550 thousand roubles since August 20.
