reported by the members of the Federation Council from Karelia the Head of the Government of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov and the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly Valentina Pivnenko at the press-conference held in Petrozavodsk today.
They presented their message to the Head of the Government of Russia Vladimir Putin, in which they suggested "to make Karelia into the first experimental region to introduce the law". They anticipate that the experience of the republic will be helpful to other regions.
It is known that the State Duma has already discussed the normative act in two readings but it hasn't adopted the final variant. A new State Duma, formed after December 19 elections, will make a final decision. The members of the Federation Council hope that the law will be adopted in the nearest future. To save the time, the Head of the Government Sergey Katanandov commissioned the ministries and departments
to start preparing the law.
