November 1993 – on the basis of the Regulation of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Karelia of November 12, 1993, NXII-20/575 the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia on Land Reform and Resources is reorganized in the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia on Land Resourses and Survey
March 2001 – on the basis of Regulation of Komzem in the RK of March 20, 2001, order of May 21, 2001, N43 authorized by the head of Federal service of land cadastre of Russia the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia on Land Resourses and Survey is given a new name of the Committee on Land Resourses and Survey in the Republic of Karelia According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation N314 of March 9, 2004 "On the system and structure of federal enforcement authorities" (edited by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation N649 of May 20, 2004) the Federal Service of the Land Cadastre of Russia is transformed into the Federal Agency of the Cadastre of Real Estate Objects. In January of 2005 on the basis of order of the Russian Real Estate Agency N P/0002 of January 18, 2005 "On ratification of the Rules on Offices of the Federal of the Cadastre of Real Estate Objects in subjects of the Russian Federation" the Committee on Land Resources and Survey in the Republic of Karelia is given a new name of the Office of the Federal Agency of the Cadastre of Real Estate Objects in the Republic of Karelia (the abbreviated name is the Office of Rosnedvizhimost in the Republic of Karelia).

The Office of the Federal Agency of the Cadastre of Real Estate Objects in the Republic of Karelia is a territorial body of the Federal Agency of the Cadastre of Real Estate Objects accomplishing government management in the sphere of maintaining the state cadastre of real estate objects, land management, inventory of objects of town-planning activity, state estimation of the land, state monitoring of the land, and state land control in the Republic of Karelia.

Basic Tasks and Duties

Basic tasks and duties of the Office are the following:

• Organization of maintaining the state land cadastre (after publication of corresponding normative legal acts - the state cadastre of the real estate objects) and state technical registration of objects of town-planning activity.
• Organization of accomplishing state cadastral estimation of land and representation of its results according to the legislation.
• Realization of the state land control over observance of the land legislation, requirements on protection and use of lands of all categories.
• Organization and realization of land management.
• Organization and realization of land monitoring.
• Organization and realization of forecasting and planning of rational land exploitation within its competence.
• Participation in realization of federal and regional programs related to regulation of land relations, accomplishing land reform, rational use and protection of land.

The Office operates on the territory of the Republic of Karelia directly and through territorial departments in districts and cities in cooperation with other territorial bodies of federal enforcement authorities, plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the federal district, enforcement authorities of the Republic of Karelia, institutions of local government, public associations and other organizations.
