The exhibition is devoted to the Day of Power Engineering Specialists. Principal causes of organization of the exhibition are the following:
- The main event which has defined necessity of realization of such exhibition is the started gasification of Karelian enterprises. For today, the Petrozavodsk heat station is put on a new kind of fuel, the works at the Open Society "Avangard" Shipbuilding Yard and Joint-stock company "Petrozavodskmash" are under implementation, in immediate prospects there are gasification (and accordingly, replacement of the existing equipment) at other Karelian enterprises, including Open Society "Kondopoga". Power and technical heads of the enterprises already now face the problem of equipment due to switching to other energy carrier.
- Situation is aggravated with change of tariffs on the home fuel market. Power supplying organizations offer for approvement tariffs for heat-carriers 3 times higher than those which worked one year ago. It is possible that temporarily this disbalance will be liquidated by strong-willed decisions. However, it is clear that with time the internal prices for heat-carriers will approach the universal. Therefore enterprises consuming the energy should already now think of introduction of energy-saving actions. Process of energy-saving should begin with taking stock of power resources and, accordingly, installations of devices and automated systems of the taking stock of energy.
- Material resources of the Karelian power enterprises created in the Soviet times desperately needs reconstruction, and sometimes full replacement (for example, about 600 boiler-houses working in different districts of Karelia).
- In the nearest future at the level of Government of the Republic of Karelia the basically created regional "Program of energy-saving in the Republic of Karelia" in which, probably, changes would be made in the view of new tendencies in power and its hardware will be affirmed.
- Another important problem concerns specificity of Karelia as northern area. Under conditions of short light day the current consumption for lighting devices at the enterprises and organizations reaches 35% from total consumed energy. Usually, when the question is energy-saving, large consumers of energy are meant. However, to pay no attention to such small, at first sight, but significant objects on the consumption level (35%) as lighting devices is at least unreasonable. Introduction of modern energy-saving light equipment allows to save from 50% up to 80 % of energy. In the scale of the republic it will take the form of substantial figures. This direction will be of special urgency when the proportion "tariff for energy/cost of energy-saving equipment" will be increased towards tariffs.
The purpose of the given exhibition is to help with the decision of these problems to create the most full representation about opportunities in these directions, to inform the people making concrete technical decisions, and, as a result, to optimize process of distribution of the means allocated on technical reequipment, to enable heads of the Karelian enterprises to establish contacts useful from the point of view of technical decisions and commercial component.
The representative structure of participants allows to hope that it will be serious working action. The exhibition has the target orientation (over the audience). Among participants of the exhibition technical heads, employees of departments of the automatic control system of Karelian enterprises, workers of heat station, "Karelenergo" and its substructures, Petrozavodsk heating systems, workers of governmental body and the mayoralties directly related to the decision of problems of power are expected.
