"United Power Engineering Complex", Government of the Republic of Karelia, JSC
Karelenergo and JSC Scientific Industrial Association NETRAEL will conduct an exhibition and
seminar "Possibilities and outlooks of use of local and renewable energy resources and
energy saving" in the exhibition hall of JSC Karelenergo (Tourist Complex
"Karelia", Gulling bank, 2 Petrozavodsk 185005 Karelia) 18-20 January 2000.
Domestic and foreign experience in creation and use of equipment and technologies of non-traditional
power engineering, estimating of resources and it's economic efficiency as well outlooks of
development, condition and outlooks of energy saving will be presented during this measure.
The main topics are:
- non-traditional hydropower;
- wind power engineering;
- solar-power engineering;
- mini-boilers, gas turbines and vapor-gas
power units;
- solar heating;
- photoelectric transformation of solar
power;
- thermodynamic transformation;
- chemical use of solar power;
- fuel elements;
- use of biomass, especially wood wastes;
- use of low-potential and overflow heat;
- hydrogen power engineering;
- systems of power accumulating;
- use of non-traditional power units and
new power resources in transport sector
and municipal economy;
- complex use of non-traditional power
technologies and re-newable power
resources;
- use of local materials and power resources
with the object of energy saving.
During of the exhibition it is proposed to conduct a round-table meeting with the topic "The
role of non-traditional power engineering and local resources in answer to a problem of regions'
powering".
