National course for training State National Theatre actors of the Republic of Karelia
Goals and tasks of the project:
Young actors training, development of creative theater potential, broadening of repertoire,
Finnish language culture preservation, culture enrichment.
The period of realization: 1998-2001

Supposed European partners:
- Ministry of Culture and Education of Finland
- Helsinki Theatre School
- Tampere University (the chair of actor mastership)
- A Finnish theatre (the question is under consideration)
The project represent both sides interest. It is oriented to support the only Finnish language theater in Russia.
The musical instrument kantele development in the Republic
of Karelia
Goals and tasks of the project:
To stimulate playing the kantele and similar folklore instruments, to activate
creative activities of ensembles, to enrich their repertoire, to attract children and youth,
to support folklore instruments making masters, to educate listeners, to disseminate
instrumental activities and Finnish- Ugrian traditions, to broad creative contacts
Period of realization: 1997-2000

Realization of the project:
Since 1995 2 International festivals "Kantele", 6 workshops of teaching to play the kantele
(Olonets, Petrozavodsk, Ryayakkyulya), 2 kantele musician parades have been held.
7 methodical and educational books teaching to play the kantele have been published.
They teach to play the kantele in music schools of Kalevala settlement, the town of Kostomuksha, the town of Olonets, the settlement of Pryazha and Shuya, in the 1st music school of Petrozavodsk.
