Economy Council Attached to the Government of Republic of Karelia
PETROZAVODSK, June 19 /The ITAR-TASS corr. Vladimir Zlobin/. Economy Council, attached to Sergey Katanandov, Head of the Government of the Republic of Karelia, has been established. Defining the objectives of the Council, he said, "At present, the government has exhausted the administrative methods of economy regulation, that's why we have to offer a new mechanism of management, able to involve additional resources of economy development."
The Council is formed by the representatives of small and middle sized business of the republic and economists. The government envisions its activities, covering the most important directions. First of all, it's the issues of the forest complex, which makes about 60% of the production of the republic. Besides, the Council will try its best to attract investments, and bring in order relations with the monopoly enterprises in the section of power supply and railroad transportation.
Meanwhile, the permanent working commission included in the Council. It bears the responsibilities of solving the most actual problems - cut-offs of electricity, lack of train cars, delays of cargo at the Customs.
