The Budget of the Republic of Karelia is the Most Transparent in the North-West of Russia
PETROZAVODSK, June 21 /The ITAR-TASS corr. Vladimir Zlobin/. In the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia the public hearings on the republican budget for 2000 have been completed today. As Alexander Kolesov, Ministry of Finance, said, it was held for the first time, speaking of all the governments and parliaments performance of the North-West of Russia.
The hearings has been held for several weeks. During this time, the leaders of 26 ministries and departments have reported back to the deputies and public representatives. The information will be published in newspapers for taxpayers notification.
Alexei Revaikin, Councilor of the Head of the Government on economic issues, believes that public hearings will allow to make the budget transparent and understandable for every citizen of the republic.
