MOSCOW, June 11. /Correspondents of ITAR-TASS Natalya Barinova, Elena Dorofeyeva/. Over 50 leading musical and dancing collectives will take part in the IInd All-Russian festival of national culture. Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Mikhail Shvydkoi has informed about it today at the press conference in ITAR-TASS. As he said, "The state has allocated more than 12 million roubles from the federal budget for realizations of such a grand holiday, and significant means were provided by sponsors."
Within the framework of the festival program 500 concerts will be held in large cities stretching from Kaliningrad region to the Far East, tours will beheld also and in the Russian out-of-the-way places. The forum will open on June 28 in 300-years-old Petrozavodsk, and will be finished in Saint Petersburg. The initiator of the holiday is singer Lyudmila Zykina.
The organizing committee of the forum is headed by the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in Northwest federal district Valentina Matvienko. It is not casual, since her subordinated region of Russia this year will become the basic place of celebrations. Concerts will be devoted to anniversaries of ancient cities - to the 1100-anniversary of Pskov, and 1250-anniversary of Staraya Ladoga.
On V.Matvienko's words, "Preservation of national culture is the sphere of special responsibility of the state." Mikhail Shvydkoi supports her, and has emphasized that careful treating of national art is now especially actual under conditions of globalization."
