On June, 20, the famos Governor's Hall on the Round Square in Petrozavodsk will fling its doors open. The old building where two centuries ago balls and secular celebrations were arranged is completely reconstructed and ready to receive the visitors.
The ensemble of buildings on the Round Square including the Governor's Hall is undoubtly of historical and cultural value. It was constructed in 1775 for Olonets mining board. In 1784 after Olonets province formation residence of the governor and offices was located there.
Complexity of restoration works in which realization VEK building company was engaged lied in the fact that many elements of the ancient hall should have been almost completely restored. Experts of VEK company together with professional restorers from Saint Petersburg have managed to recreate ancient tiles, fireplaces, vaults of cornices and even to keep ancient plaster where possible. Builders managed to meet one of the main initial requirements and to provide the Governor's Hall with the look most close to its initial.
