Addressing to inhabitants and visitors of the city, Sergey Katanandov has expressed confidence that the historical ensemble on the Round Square, due to efforts of restorers, gets its initial historical look. Special gratitude, according to Sergey Katanandov, is deserved by VEK building company that carried out all complex restoration and civil construction work.

Sergey Katanandov's answer to the journalists' question on possible move of Lenin's monument from the square was negative. "The history may not be changed through moving monuments and changing names of streets and squares. At least, in the nearest years nothing of the kind will happen in Petrozavodsk," - Sergey Katanandov has told.

Having thanked builders for their work, the Head of the Republic has examined exposition Vikings' Way to the East exhibited in the located in the Museum of local lore, history and economy and has got acquainted to the course of works in the Governor's park.
