PETROZAVODSK. /Correspondent of ITAR-TASS Vladimir Zlobin/. The National theatre of Karelia in Petrozavodsk has flung open its doors today for spectators after eight-year reconstruction. This event is dated for the 300-th anniversary of the capital of the republic that will be celebrated on June 27-29. The troupe has prepared a premiere performance Nummifars based on the comedy Nummi Shoemakers by the classic of Finnish dramatic art Alexis Kivi.
According to the director of theatre Arvid Zeland, reconstruction of the building constructed in 1965 under the project of architect Savva Brodsky has costed 200 million roubles. The sum was allocated from federal and republican budgets. During repair the three-storied artistic case was completely reconstructed. In the building all communications are replaced, the new modern light, sound and scenic equipment is installed. The auditorium was restored as well. In the opinion of experts, the National theatre of Karelia after reconstruction owns the best scenic platform in the entire Northwest of Russia.
