The meeting has passed within the framework of President's visit to Vilga nursery forest where conifers are cultivated.
The Head of Karelia has told the President about the state of affairs in wood branch of Karelia, about interbudgetary relations with the federal center, and also about the decision on creation of timber industry holding in the republic on the basis of local timber enterprises.
Vladimir Putin has paid Sergey Katanandov's attention to the problem of financing charges on reproduction and protection of woods. "Not all timber enterprises have enough means to cope with this problem," - the head of the state has told. The President has also offered to work on the problem of reduction of export duties' rates of production of deep processed wood.
By the end of the meeting, Vladimir Putin has held the meeting with representatives of timber industry.
