The plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Northwest Federal district Ilya Klebanov who has arrived to Karelia with a working visit, has visited the new academic and laboratory complex of Petrozavodsk State University.
Together with Sergey Katanandov, the Head of Karelia, Ilya Klebanov has attended final graduation examination of students of the Faculty of Physical Engineering, visited computerized library and residential rooms of post-graduate students.

The former director general of Leningrad optomechanical association of LOMO the present plenipotentiary of the President was very interested in visiting laboratories where Karelian scientists study plasma physics, and has correctly recollected names of many test beds and complex scientific devices.

A water treating device developed in the new academic-laboratory complex has caused Ilya Klebanov's interest. The plenipotentiary of the President and the Rector of Petrozavodsk State University Victor Vasiliev have tasted crystal-clear water that had just passed the plant and were quite satisfied with its quality.

Speaking about development of science and technologies in Russia, Ilya Klebanov has called the Northwest federal district one of the three of leaders on the gained scientific and technical potential. As he said, the university science is very well advanced here, and it is necessary to learn to apply its achievements in standard industrial technologies. Technoparks and venture funds should serve as a good tool for converting scientific ideas for serial development.
