PETROZAVODSK, April 21. /Correspondent of ITAR-TASS Vladimir Zlobin/. Karelian Wood. Furniture. Woodworking exhibition has opened in Petrozavodsk. More than 50 companies and firms from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Vologda, Yaroslavl, cities and districts of Karelia, and also from Austria, Germany and Czechia have presented their production there. Demonstration of achievements of home and foreign equipment, tools, and materials is organized by Euroforum exhibition agency at the support of the republican Ministry of Economic Development, the State Committee on Timber and Mining Complex and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"At this stage of development we form market structures in the wood complex, and a lot has already been done, - the Head of the republic Sergey Katanandov has told on the exposition opening ceremony . - This exhibition objectively reflects real results of our work in this sphere. I hope, that it will make for the further development of the branch through exchange of the best practices and modern technologies, strengthening of cooperation with other regions, signing contracts on manufacture expansion, and improvement of quality of production."
Within the framework of the exhibition which will last for three days a business program is stipulated for experts. In particular, the committee of standardization will hold seminars on legal bases of technical regulation for the furniture industry and on criteria of quality for woodworking production manufacture.
