The delegation of Karelia headed by the head Chapter of the Republic will spend the forthcoming week in the USA.
Presentation of the Republic of Karelia will be held in the trade Mission of Russia in New York at participation of the Department of State of the USA.
Sergey Katanandov will greet the businessmen of New York and other cities, report on investment appeal of our republic and negotiate with the interested companies, and with the president of the Canadian company GESCO-STAR LTD Mr. Moris Grondin.
Two press conferences in New York and Burlington, Vermont, where the Head of Karelia will answer the journalists' questions will be held.
The visit schedule assumes negotiation with heads of large commercial and industrial corporations of the USA and Canada, a meeting with Jim Douglas, the Governor of Vermont, participation in the round table discussion with administration of departments of economy, tourism, representatives of business circles, and mayors of cities. Visiting higher educational institutions, in particular, Institute of Steady Communities (Montpelier, Vermont), meetings with students and teachers is planned.
The American press points out that visit of the delegation from Karelia is the first attempt of one of the subjects of the Northwest of the Russian Federation to present its territory in the financial and trading markets of America.
