PETROZAVODSK, July 31. /Correspondent of SPB-TASS Sergey Khoroshavin/. The Pskov yacht Volshebnik (Wizard) became the winner of the international sailing regatta Onego-2004 and the champion of Russia among high-speed yachts Īpen-800. In the rest four test groups the Moscow yachts - Osa, Uliss, Lotusand Vodoley became champions of Russia.
These are the results of thesailing regatta Onego-2004 held from July, 22 till July, 30 on the Onega lake. As the SPB-TASS correspondent has been informed by the main judge of the competition Yury Chekalov, about 50 yachts from Russia and Finland participated in the regatta, however not all pof them have the reached finish - on Friday night at the final stage of the race yachts have rubbed into heavy weather and some vessels (including those that preliminary had all chances to win) were forced to drop out of the race. In total 42 yachts finished the race. Altogether the participants have covered the distance of almost 450 sea miles.
Except for cups and diplomas the regatta winners were also awarded with various household and navigating equipment.
