The IVth World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples in which the delegation from the Republic of Karelia lead by the Head of the Republic Sergey Katanandov participates continues in Tallinn, the capital of the Republic of Estonia.

Now the Congress participants work in sections. Sergey Katanandov has presented his report Ethnic and Cultural Politics in the Republic of Karelia in the Culture section.

"Programs on development of languages and cultures of peoples of the Finno-Ugric origin - Karelians, Vepsians, Finns and Ingermalandians will be supported in Karelia. The slavic majority of the republic understands this necessity. It is related to both our responsibility before the ancestors, and also to the new opportunities of being in the context of the entire Finno-Ugric and world community..." - the Head of the republic has told.

Delegates of Karelian and Vepsian peoples have successfully presented their projects for the numerous forum participants. The Congress subject is "Youth is our future". Youth public organizations Nuori Karjala, Nevond and the Vepsian Culture Society presented their projects on the part of the Republic of Karelia
