PETROZAVODSK, October 4, 2004. 13:17. /Correspondent of RIA Novosti - Northwest Alexey Ukkone/. Session of the regional Council of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR), the intergovernmental organization of the countries of the Northern Europe and Russia, is held in Petrozavodsk on Tuesday.
As RIA Novosti correspondent has been informed in the press-service of the Government of Karelia, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway, administrations of northwest regions of Russia and provinces of Finland, Sweden and Norway, as well as representatives of foreign companies participating in projects of cooperation within the framework of BEAR Council will take part in the session.
It is planned to discuss problems of industrial partnership in timber industry sector, mining and metallurgy industry, and also opportunities of strengthening the role of public sector in industrial development in the Barents region.
