In the exhibition center of Kizhi museum reserve the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov has got acquainted with the restoration accomplished at the world famous island.
Using breadboard models the museum employees have shown the problem sites of Kizhi architectural ensemble and industrial technology for restoration of the Church of Transfiguration. Sergey Lavrov admitted that he has never been to Kizhi island, and Sergey Katanandov has invited the honoured guest to come to the republic in summer and to visit Kizhi and Valaam islands.
Sergey Lavrov thanked for the invitation and has expressed hope to visit Karelia this summer and spend more time there.
Within the framework of the ethnographic exhibition The Exposition Brought to Life employees of the center have shown the visitors the art of Zaonezhsky embroidery, hand-worked subjects of Karelian crafts, weaver's and carpenter's skills.
By the end of the excursion the presentation-exhibition center director Elvira Averyanovs has handed a memorable picture album Kizhi Seasons over Sergey Lavrov.
