The exhibition of railway transport of Russia has opened in the capital of Karelia

On June 24, 2005 the best product samples of transport engineering industry enterprises of Russia have been collected for the first time in the history of Petrozavodsk at the railway station of Petrozavodsk of Octyabrskaya railway, the branch of Russian Railroads, Inc.

A unique opportunity to get acquainted with advanced railway machinery is provided to the citizens and guests of the capital of Karelia by Russian Railroads company. On June 24 at Petrozavodsk railway station all comers will be able to see a real rail bus, an electric train, diesel locomotives, comfortable carriages and even the first private passenger train of Grand-Express company which in the near future will start plying between St.Petersburg and Moscow.

In the exhibition hall of the station there's an exposition where the most recent achievements of science and technology in the field of transportation process management, safety of movement and many other things are demonstrated on computers and plasma screens. Also within the framework of the exhibition all comers can get acquainted with the history and basic trends of Octyabrskaya railway development.

The exhibition is held within the framework of the session of the XXVth Coordination Transport Meeting of the CIS states and the eighth session of the Transport Policy Council at the Integration Committee of EurAsEC at participation of Ministers of Transport of the CIS.

The Minister of Transport of Russia Igor Levitin, the Head of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov, and the CIS states' coordination meeting participants will visit the exhibition this afternoon.
