The problem of quality of education will become a calling card of the forthcoming summer summit of the Big Eight in St.-Petersburg. The Minister of Education and Science of Russia Andrey Fursenko has informed on it before the beginning of the expanded session of the working group of the State Council of Russia concerning modernization of education held in Petrozavodsk under the presidency of the Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov.
"Both for Europe, and for us, the problem of correlation of requirements of innovative economy and of the opportunity of the system of education to provide personnel for economy of this kind is of great interest," - the Minister of Education and Science has noted. - "Correlation of qualifying requirements in different educational systems of the world to provide for the needs of the the uniform world labour market is what we consider the most important."
He has also informed that Russia will suggest members of the Big Eight to discuss problems of mobility of students, adaptation of migrants in modern societies, as well as development of the Education for Everyone international program in which problems of quality of primary and secondary education are paid the paramount attention, as the world community spends a lot of money on education in developing countries.
