"I shall always support people," - these words of Sergey Katanandov became a leitmotif of the 4th annual Internet-conference of the Head of Karelia which took place on May, 25th in Petrozavodsk State University.
Appearing of the new form of dialogue of the Head of Karelia with citizens of the republic became possible thanks to development of communication systems in the region. During the conference Sergey Katanandov answered questions received by e-mail and phones, by means of Internet videotranslation he communicated with regions of the republic and students of Petrozavodsk schools. In the university audience Sergey Katanandov was greeted by students, teachers and journalists.
Questions asked the Head of Karelia concerned the most different aspects of life in the republic, the all-Russian themes were mentioned, however, most of the questions were devoted to protection of motherhood and childhood and social policy of the state.
Conference started with theTVR-Panorama newspaper journalist Anna Kuznetsova's question about 'suburban amnesty'. Sergey Katanandov has told, that has introduced the corresponding project of law of the republic for consideration in the Legislative Assembly. Under the offer of the Head of Karelia, cost of official registration of papers on country houses in the republic should decrease considerably from present 18 to 2-3 thousand roubles.
Head of Karelia answered questions of citizens of Olonets, Medvezhiegorsk, Segezha and Sortavala by means of videotranslation. From the Internet-studio of Olonets Sergey Katanandov was asked a question on development of programs for support of foster and patronate families in the republic, Medvezhyegorsk citizens wanted to know how assignments of the President of Russia on resettlement of emergency housing will be carried out, workers of Segezha Pulp and Paper Plant asked the Head of the RK some questions concerning systems of payment, delegates of Ladoga Lakeside Women's Forum have taken part in the live Internet stand-up from Sortavala.

Dialogue of the Head of Karelia with students of Petrozavodsk schools has also turned out to be interesting. Graduates of school N39 have thanked Sergey Katanandov for attention to their educational institution - that day the Head of Karelia has visited it at The Last Bell ceremony. Students of school N40 have complained of heavy academic load and asked Sergey Katanandov about the School Milk program. Once again Head of the RK has confirmed intention to lower workload on children at schools of the republic and has expanded frameworks of the School Milk program - those who cannot drink dairy products under medical indications, will be given home-produced juices and fruit drinks.
Citizens of Petrozavodsk have asked the Head of Karelia a question on bad condition of city roads. Sergey Katanandov's answer was rigid in relation to city administration, however he raised hopes of citizens of Petrozavodsk. Head of the RK has told it was budget of the republic that financed repairing of highways by the 300th anniversary of Petrozavodsk. Lately the mayoralty has allocated almost no means for road works that has led to pitiable condition of many streets. Today the Government of Karelia again had to allocate 100 million roubles to repair Petrozavodsk streets. Besides, it was possible to involve about 200 million roubles of federal means. Therefore, the problem of financing of works does not exist any more, the main task of the mayoralty is to use this money quickly and to bring roads in appropriate condition.
Students of the university and journalists managed to ask many questions in the audience where the Internet-conference was held. Matters concerned employment of high school graduates, the forthcoming lining of gas main from Shtokman gas field over the territory of the republic, and even results of Eurovision competition. It has appeared, that at the competition Sergey Katanandov liked the song of Belarus singer Dmitry Koldun, however he was the fan of Serebro, as well as the most part of Russians.
At the 4th Internet-conference there has been established a sort of a record - during one hour and thirty minutes Head of the RK answered 49 questions. In total, during the conference and preparation period there have been received 128 questions to Sergey Katanandov. It should be mentioned that letters of citizens continued to come even and after the conference was over.
All letters and phone calls, which the presenters had no time to announce at the Internet-conference while it worked, will be also forwarded to the Head of Karelia. Sergey Katanandov will consider each address personally.
