On August 3, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Andrey Fursenko came to the Republic of Karelia, where he has visited international scouting meeting “Jamboree - 100 fires”, campus of Petrozavodsk State University, and Druzhba children's camp in the village of Derevyannoye. Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia Valery Boinich, Minister of Education of the Republic of Karelia Alexander Selyanin and the State Committee of the RK on Sports and Youth Chairman Maxim Antipov accompanied him during the trip.

The visiting program, first of all, included meetings with youth from Karelia and Russia. The day began on the shore of the Syamozero lake where the "Jamboree - 100 fires" camp of National Organization of Russian Scouts devoted to the centenary of scouting is located. Jamboree is the largest camp, where scouts came from all over the world. This word is borrowed from one of African tribes which called the tribes' gathering so. This summer on the big meadow in the place of Kishkoila there situated the entire tent town numbering more than 2,5 thousand scouts from 38 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Estonia, Finland, and Ireland. "Jamboree - 100 fires" meeting is held at the support of the Government of the Republic of Karelia, the City Administration of Petrozavodsk, the European Union, Finnish Children and Youth Foundation.

Andrey Fursenko has taken part in the grandiose Jamboree opening, and then has talked to youth people who came to Karelia from different places of Russia and to commanders of scout groups, got acquainted with the camp and scout programs in various spheres and has even tasted scouts' borshch.

"We should render assistance to youth movements, - he emphasized in one of his conversations. - Youth policy is directed on rendering assistance and supporting people ready to assume certain responsibility." However, in the opinion of the Minister, the scout movement is successful just because it is free. If the scout movement turns into the state program, he has told that "we shall have an organization which would be more for functionaries, than for children." "I hope, that noone hinders you, - if not, we are ready to take certain steps," - he has emphasized. The Minister has also promised help to scout organizations in overcoming visa barriers when they visit each other.
In his opinion, the basic idea of scout movement is "confident people in successful country". Precepts of scouts, the Minister is assured, teach devotion to the Native land and parents, honour and justice, politeness, thrift, diligence and persistence in achievement of purposes. In 2007 world scout movement celebrates its centenary. The word "scout" is of English origin. Spiritual development, performance of duty to the country and responsibility for personal development form the basis of scouting ideology.

Then for a short period of time the Minister came back to Petrozavodsk, to the territory of Petrozavodsk State University campus. There he has got acquainted with members of the student constructing team of Karelia, watched them working, and talked to them in one of the classrooms. Student constructing teams actively revive today in Karelia. In the republic there work eight teams of students of Petrozavodsk State University, and also from some technical schools and colleges of Petrozavodsk. Of course, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation could not miss the opportunity to have a meeting with one of the teams involved in the campus building. In the lobby of Petrozavodsk State University Andrey Fursenko saw the exhibition devoted to history of student constructing team movement in Karelia and recalled his trips to Karelia as a member of student constructing team.
Head of the Ministry of Education and Science considers it to be a good idea to involve student constructing teams into implementation of priority national projects, especially in the countryside. "It will be right, - he said, - to involve constructing teams in housing construction in the countryside, rather than, for example, migrant workers from the near abroad. I think, that student constructing teams' activity is also a very good force application for students' self-management." The Minister promised to assist and support the constructing teams, but, at the same time, he declared, that the Government, in turn, wants the constructing team members to make offers on development of the movement and solution of the backlog of organizational problems.
By the end of the day Andrey Fursenko came to Druzhba children's camp in the village of Derevyannoye where comes to the end Artsia republican theater profile session, the unique project in the field of theater pedagogics uniting annually about 80 teen-age members of amateur teatre groups and studios of the republic.
