petrozavodsk.rfn.ru. In the settlement of Ladva of Prionezhsky region major overhaul of the second building of the children's home and school proceeds. The roof and basements are already repaired, window blocks are replaced in the entire building.
Now there goes plaster and painting. Electric wiring and bathroom fitments will be replaced completely. Budgets of Karelia and the Pension fund have allocated 14,5 million roubles for reconstruction of the building.
The building remained empty for five years - it was closed in 2002. Demographic crisis had its effect: one building became not enough for accommodation of handicapped children. Now the second building was decided to restore in a new quality. A rehabilitation center is to be located there. Together with children there could live their parents who will receive medical knowledge and skills of care of children with limited opportunities. Logopedists will also work in the center. Teachers in ceramics, carpenter's
and sewing workshops will accustom children to work.
Works on the object are planned to be completed in November. Opening of the rehabilitation center in Ladva is planned for January of 2009.
