Karelian chess player was the best at the Czech Open International chess festival

From July 19 to 26 in the town of Pardubice (Czechia) there passed the international chess festival Czech Open. Five chess players from Kondopoga participated in it representing Karelia. One of them, Alexander Leontovich, turned in a good score. He played the D tournament (chess players with ELO rating not exceeding 2000, as well as chess players without any rating). Actually, it was an amateur tournament. In total there participated 272 sportsmen from Russia, Czechia, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and other countries.

Alexander Leontovich performed excellent playing. On results of the competition he has won the first place. The event, as Karelian chess players say, is rather joyful and rare in chess life of the republic.
