Traditional festival of Karelian culture took place in the village of Kolatselga

Traditional festival of Karelian culture timed to coincide with the Day of Vlas and devoted to the Karelian family - preservation of native language, traditional Karelian cuisine, transfer of ethnocultural heritage to the rising generation took place in the Karelian village of Kolatselga of Pryazha region for the 11th time. Residents of the village opened the festival with a mini-performance in their native language about Karelian traditions of receiving quests.

To congratulate residents and guests of the holiday there came the Oma paio Karelian national chorus, Ihalmagroup from the village of Vidlitsa of Olonets region, residents of Vidlitsa Mikhail Yolyn and Nikolay Nikolaev. Young singer Ivan Trifanov, representative of ancient clan of Kolatselga, amazed the audience. The exhibition-competition of childrens' drawings devoted to native land, traditions and customs of the Karelian family was very popular.

Tables at the holiday were full of various national batch. There, at the festival spot, a master-class on making ancient Karelian dish of "sulnitchat" took place. The lesson was prepared and lead by the expert on Karelian traditions, the village native Nina Antonova: she taught many peasants and guests toroll the dough, bake breads on the frying pan and treated everybody who came to the holiday.

The festival passed at the support of the Ministry on National Politics and Relations with Religious Associations of the RK.
