Under the offer of the Ministry of Education of Karelia Government of the republic has made changes to the Development of Physical Training and Sports in the Republic of Karelia in 2006-2010 regional target program.
More than 7 million roubles will be allocated for realization of the Skiing for Children and Youth Development project. The project assumes carrying out of republican skiing and biathlon competitions for schoolchildren, and training of the sports reserve of the republic from among the best skiers and biathlonists for participation in the All-Russia competitions.
Some means will be allocated for improvement of professional skills of trainers and teachers of educational establishments, reconstruction of premises of the republic's specialized children's and youth sports school of Olympic reserve, purchase of sports equipment and facilities.
