Tourists are surprised that the village so small is still alive

petrozavodsk.rfn.ru. Village of Kinerma of Pryazha region celebrates its 445 anniversary. This day citizens and visitors of the village prayed in the chapel of the eighteenth century, participated in the vikings' communal horseplay and danced to the Karelian folk music.

In any mentioning of Kinerma there are always a few words about the Chapel of the Icon of Our Lady of Smolensk. It was constructed in the eighteenth century. The main property of the chapel was the Icon of Our Lady of Smolensk which original is in Petrozavodsk.

And, if the service is always held in the Church Slavonic, then the Gospel in this chapel on the holiday was read in Karelian, too.

- Many Karelians live here, I'm Karelian myself, I speak Karelian language and I love it, therefore, I use any opportunity to use this ancient language at the divine service, - the prior of the Curch of Peter and Paul from Kalevala father Pavel explained.

There are twenty two ancient houses in the village. Constantly in Kinerma there live only two families. Other architectural monuments remain not empty only in summer. However, the village revives, and there is no doubt about it. Tourists always come there in summer and on holidays. The 445 anniversary of the village is a centuries-old history of Karelian land.

The village residentsn also like playing. Entertainments were adopted from the vikings who repeatedly endeavored to conquer this territory. Among the brightest there are axe throwing, slinging and pasing a labyrinth. The last test is not for the faint-hearted. The only way to win is to draw all the family to participate.
