Today in Russia there is no person indifferent to the trouble of citizens of South Ossetia who suffer from Georgia's hostilities. Karelia could not afford to stand back from this tragedy.
Today Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov has once again confirmed, that the republic is ready to assist and support the Ossetic people.
- Government of the republic has made a decision to allocate means from the reserve fund to transfer it to the account opened in Moscow and North Ossetia. If assistance of our institutions is necessary, we shall provide it, and also we are ready to receive the refugees, - Sergey Katanandov has declared.
Head of the republic is glad that active hostilities in South Ossetia have stopped. He considers actions of armed forces of Russia lawful, and supports all steps of the country leaders on pacifcation and protection of interests of citizens.
«It is indisputable that Russia has no right to leave its fellow citizens in trouble, as the majority of citizens of South Ossetia have Russia's passports. I hope, that with common efforts we will manage to help those who suffere and stabilize the situation,» - Sergey Katanandov has told.
