Summer Biathlon European Championship opens today in Bulgaria to be held through to August 17. About 300 sportsmen will take part in it. Karelia at the Championship will be represented by two sportsmen - Ivan Bogdanov and Sergey Zotov.
Ivan Bogdanov is a member of the Russian summer biathlon combined team. He is the Master of Sports of International Class, winner and prize-winner of the championship of Europe of 2007. In the world championship of 2007 Ivan has won bronze in the mass-start with shooting, and the gold medal in the relay race with shooting.
Sergey Zotov is the Master of Sports of Russia in biathlon and winner of the Biathlon Championship of Russia.
