Due to implementation of republican and federal programs of mortgage housing credit, acquisition of housing for the population of Karelia is getting more affordable. It proves to be true in figures and facts.
Thus, since implementation of programs started in 2002 and as of January, 1 of the current year in total threre has been granted 2944 credits. Dynamics of granting mortgage housing credits is the following: in 2002 within the program 21 credits have been disbursed, 90 in 2003, 279 in 2004, 537 in 2005, 1161 in 2006, 881 in 2007 (at the plan of 630 families).
This year at the planned target of 665 people only in the the past seven months 847 citizens of the republic became participants of mortgage credit lending. Under the preliminary forecast, by the end of the year there will 1200-1300 participants.
This circumstance also became a point of issue at the next session of the commission at the Government of the Republic of Karelia on issues of mortgage housing credit held by the deputy Minister of Construction of Valentina Baykova.
In view of growing interest of the population to mortgage housing credit as a tool of raising the level of affordability of acquisition of housing, Ministry of Construction of the RK is to develop projects of decision and order on introduction of amendments in the Mortgage Housing Credit Development in the Republic of Karelia sub-program and in the Housing regional target program regarding increase in scheduled number of the sub-program participants in 2008 and the following years.
