Summer Biathlon European Championship was held from August 13 to 17 in Bansko, Bulgaria. Karelia at the Championship was represented by Sergey Zotov and Ivan Bogdanov. There passed sprint cross-country races, mass starts, and mixed relay races for adults and juniors on Sunday. The combined team of Russia has won 8 gold medals.
Petrozavodsk sportsmen were awarded with two medals. Sergey Zotov has won bronze in the sprint cross-country race for juniors and gold in the mixed relay race. In the mass starts he was the fifth.
Ivan Bogdanov's results this year are not so successful. He came 7th in the sprint cross-country race for men, 6th in the mass starts, and did not participate in the relay race. We shall remind, that in 2007 Ivan Bogdanov was the world champion: he has won gold in the relay race and was a prize-winner in the mass starts.
