Two participants of the 28th World Championship from Russia (I.Shvetsov, Kondopoga Forest Enterprize, Inc., Karelia, and A.Surovtsev, Pudozh Forest Enterprize, Inc., Karelia) were defined last year within the framework of the Third All-Russia Husqvarna Logging Cup 2007. The third participant of the combined team had became A.Sokolov (Lahdenpohja Forest Enterprize, Inc., Karelia), having shown high results at the open championship of fellers of the Republic of Karelia 2008. This year for the first time Russia will be represented at the World Championship in the Junior nomination: to compete for the Junoir's gold there goes Vladimir Dashugin (Kondopoga Forest Enterprize, Inc., Karelia). All Russian fellers will use innovative model of Husqvarna 576ÕÐ chain saw at the championship.

According to the rules approved by the International committee, participants of the Championship compete in 5 various disciplines: felling, knotting, preparation of chain-saw to work, combined crosscutting and accuracy of sawing. Every discipline demands the highest skill of performance - at evaluation the considers the smallest details. For this reason organizers of the competition have made a decision to offer the felling competition this year on the covered stadium area, where not only speed is evaluated, but also accuracy of felling. It will create identical conditions for all participants, having provided wind protection capable to affect the result.

«First of all, our support of the Russian team is a tribute to professionals of the Russian forestry branche and our contribution to education of experts of the international level, - Alexander Goncharov, head of the professional equipment department (Husqvarna, Ltd.), has noted. - Besides, Husqvarna chain-saws today enjoy record popularity both in the European countries, and here in Russia, that imposes certain responsibility on us, and also is the reason of Husqvarna's participation in destiny of the Russian combined team».
