petrozavodsk.rfn.ru. Days of Polish Culture pass in Petrozavodsk. Within the scope of this project exhibition Polish graphic arts and drawings of the first half of the XXth century on the first of October opened in the Karelian state museum of local history.
27 works of outstanding Polish painters and graphic artists, masters of the facsimile writing are presented at the exposition. Many of them are exhibited in Karelia for the first time. Most of works were created during the short period of the Polish independence between two world wars from 1918 to 1939, therefore, many paintings have strongly pronounced features of national colour.
The exhibition organized by the Ņonsulate of Poland in St.-Petersburg in close cooperation with the Ministry of Ņulture of Karelia, will stay in Petrozavodsk till November the third, then it will proceed to Arkhangelsk. Works of Polish masters will be also shown to the inhabitants of Pskov, Veliky Novgorod and Kaliningrad - cities where hereditary Poles live. In Karelia there more than three thousand of them.
Within the framework of Days of Polish Culture demonstration of films by modern Polish directors and the Polish music soiree is also offered.
