On July 1 in the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Karelia there passed a meeting with Finnish experts of the Safe School project on results of the first year of its implementation.
From the Finnish party the project is represented by the Consortium of the University of Oulu in the city of Kajani led by the expert, our former compatriot, doctor of psychology, teacher of the University of Oulu Nikolay Veresov. From our party the project participants are Karelian Educational Development Foundation and Ministry of Education of the republic. The project budget is 10 million roubles.
In the Safe School project there participate 12 pilot educational establishments of the republic on which basis within the scope of the project there will be developed the system of quality standards of conditions of educational process organization guaranteeing security to its participants.
At the meeting in the Ministry results of research accomplished in pilot schools have been discussed. Directions of research concerned catering services in schools, healthy way of life, protection of rights of students. Experts from Finland have made offers on improvement of work. During the next stage of the project each establishment will choose one of directions: catering, work with parents, sports etc., and plans for development will be developed.
