Programmers of Petrozavodsk State University students of the Faculty of Mathematics Denis Denisov, Ilya Nikolaevskiy and Alexey Nikolaevskiy have taken part in the World Finals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2010 hosted by Harbin Engineering University (China) where the strongest programmers competed for the title of the World Champion.

Executive director of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest Bill Poucher welcomed the participating teams at the opening ceremony.
The 103 strongest programmer teams of the world, representatives of the most famous universities have taken part in the Contest.
The Wx team of PetrSU has won silver medals in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) having solved 6 of 11 problems offered.

Delegation of the university comprised the President of the University Professor Viktor Vasiliev, Head of the Club of creativity of programmers of PetrSU Professor Vladimir Kuznetsov, Doctor of Engineering and coach of the team Denis Vlasov, lecturer of the Chair of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics.
