A monument to Alexander Nevsky

A monument to Alexander Nevsky by sculptor V.Kozenyuk was made in the Statuary Aке Studio in St.-Petersburg and delivered to Petrozavodsk. On March, 1 it was approved by the commission that included representatives of the Ministry on National Politics and Relations with Religious Associations, Ministry of Construction, the Republic's Center for State Protection of Objects of Cultural Heritage and Petrozavodsk urban district.
Collection of donations for erection of the monument was announced in the capital of Karelia in 2007. Unveiling of the monument that will be installed near the Alexandro-Nevsky Cathedral of Petrozavodsk is expected in the beginning of June when the republic will celebrate its 90th anniversary.
