Head of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov has ordered to assign 100 thousand roubles from the Reserve Fund of the Government to the Municipal institution of further education for children Children's Drama Center of Petrozavodsk for organization of a trip of Karelian schoolchildren from regions of the republic to France to participate in the international festival Russian Word, Russian Soul.
The festival to be held in Paris on April, 2-5 is officially recognized at the level of governments of the two countries and included in the list of official activities of the Year of Russia in France. The main task set by organizers for themselves as well as interesting the French youth in learning Russian language and in comprehension of heritage of the Russian literature which is an important character of a modern civilized person, is also strengthening of mutual understanding and respect between the young people of the two countries. The festival opening will be held in the Russian Center of Science and Culture, and its closing will have a format of the Russian ball in the Embassy of Russia in France.
To participate in the festival there have been invited Karelian schoolchildren that have become winners of the IInd republican elocution competition The Word in which last November there participated 132 children of grades from 8th to 11th. Nine children including five from regions of the republic and four from the capital of Karelia will go to Paris.
Karelian schoolchildren will have a unique opportunity to show artistic endeavour of our youth during one of the official events of the Year of Russia in France.
