The Arrival of the President of the
Russian Federation
B.N.Yeltsin to Karelia
On the 18th of July, at 13.05 in the airport "Besovets" a plane "Yak-
40" landed, on which the President of the Russian Federation Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin
with the spouse Naina Iosifovna arrived to Karelia.
They were met by the Head of the Government of the Republic of Karelia
Sergey Leonidovich Katanandov with the spouse, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the
President in Karelia Vyacheslav Nikolayevich Ushakov, the Heads of the Houses
of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia Natalya Vladimirovna Kotsuba and Valentina
Nikolayevna Pivnenko, the Head of local power of Petrozavodsk
Andrei Yuryevich Dyomin.
The honored guests were presented flowers and a round loaf of bread, baked
especially for the meeting on the Petrozavodsk bread factory.
After that the presidential cortege made its way to Shuyskaya Chupa, where gifts
of the Karelian forest awaited the guests - a full basket of cloudberry, Naina Iosifovna Yeltsina`s favourite berry.
Saturday and Sunday the guests spent in Shuyskaya Chupa.
