Sergey Katanandov's Visit to Iceland Has Been Completed
October 30 the official Sergey Katanandov`s visit to Iceland has been completed. The visit was held by the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Halldor Ausgreimson. In the course of the visit the final Memorandum was signed in Reykjavik. The parties agreed upon the perspectives of further cooperation. The priorities are given to the joint projects in the area of fishbreeding technology and fishprocessing, credits, repairing and reinstalling of fishing vessels, timber and paper product delivery, natural stone extracting and processing. The parties also agreed upon cultural, research and information exchange. Besides, the agreement envisions the Karelian student education in the higher institutions of Iceland.
In the coming March the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Halldor Ausgreimson is going to come to the Republic of Karelia with the official visit. In the course of the visit the specific steps of cooperation between the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Iceland are to be planned.
