ROSYNKA (Petrozavodsk) - a group of 7 young women, all professional musicians graduated from the conservatoire.
The mission of the ensemble work is to study, to keep and to propagandize traditional northern female culture and authentic folklore of the north of Russia (Veps, Karelian, Russian, Inkeri and Finnish).
Some of these traditions are very ancient and have a background of many centuries. Thus our audiences have a possibility to turn back to their roots with us during the concerts. And so they usually do!
The Northern tradition is mostly a-cappella women's singing and for that reason needs a very skilful technique and powerful voices.
We also perform dances and songs of the other regions of Russia. Audiences may also see our own original works.
The basis of the ROSYNKA repertoire include:
- old lyrical songs of the Russian north;
- epic songs and spiritual songs;
- interactive games;
- folk theatre;
- dances and games.
The most of programme suppose a full interaction with the audience, which makes a particular colour. This way the ensemble fights for the ecology of the soul and tries to create a harmony with nature. Ensemble performances are met with enthusiastic audience applaud and leave nobody indifferent in the hall.
The present staff of ROSYNKA has been existing since 1993, and participating in a lot of concerts and scientific conferences both in Karelia and abroad.
In 1993 ROSYNKA gave lessons of traditional singing in The Academy of Sibelius, Finland. ROSYNKA - a prizewinner of the republic competition of singing groups. Besides, the ensemble is a permanent participant of Russian and international folklore festivals.
ROSYNKA has a scientific supervisor (Semakova I.B.) who helps to study traditions.
ROSYNKA actively searches for new forms of the existing of traditional folklore in modern conditions. The international program "Моya pa tvoja" became the example of it together with the performer of Saam traditional music of Ande Somby (http://www.jus.uit.no/ansatte/somby/moja01ENG.htm; http://www.greenmanreview.com/moya.pa.tvoja.htm; http://www.jus.uit.no/ansatte/somby/mojaNOR.htm) and the Norwegian group BOKNAKARAN (http://boknakaran.agane.com/mojatvoja.php3/).
So, our powerful enough yet compact and mobile ensemble is able to capture an attention of those who like a real folk.
