Priorities for 1999-2002
As priorities for 1999-2002 The Government of the Republic of Karelia has mapped out
the following trends and forms of international development:
- forming a single database for international projects and programs as an applied analytical and
management tool which allow to determine the most effective spheres and forms of
international relationship and provide for maximum feedback from the international
cooperation for the benefit of the Republic of Karelia;
- establishment of the "Karelia Euregion" organizational structure as a complex model of the
cross-border cooperation;
- working out and implementation of an image-making program for the Republic of Karelia;
- attraction of funds to the social sector.
