1. The major industrial enterprises.
One of the major industrial enterprises in theregion is Shuyales Joint-Stock Company (director general Andrey V.Pladov, tel. (81456)-45368). It is a logging enterprise, annualy it harvests about 300 thousand cubic metres of timber of 610 thousand cubic metres logged in the region. Round timber is the basic production of this enterprise.
In the region there are 3 large agricultural enterprises:
- Vedlozersky breading farm (director Sergey M.Popov, tel. (81456)-34533). Basic production: milk, meat, potatoes. This production is not being processed;
- Essoila Joint-Stock Company (executive director Ivan A.Alekin, tel. (81456)-33540). Basic production: milk, meat, potatoes. Processes milk and meat;
- Pryazhinskoye Joint-Stock Company (director Valery P.Koloushkin, tel. (81456)-31604). Core business is fur farming. In the farm they bred minks, polar foxes, foxed, and raccoones. Besides, the enterprise is engaged in production of milk and its products, meat, baking of bred.
There are registered 40 factory farms. They produce milk, meat, and plant production.
In 2007 it is planned to launch two interesting projects in the sphere of mining industry complex:
- production of blocks of lilac and crimson quartzites at Kashkany deposit at labour force of 35 - 40 employees (BaltGAZstroikomplekt Joint-Stock Company, director general Magomet R.Bokov, tel. (495)-2006943);
- production of crushed stone of gabbro-diabase at Chevzhevara deposit at labour force of 80 - 90 employees (Prionezhsky Mining Company, Ltd., director general Simeon M.Sychev, tel. (812)-3365147).
2. Other enterprises.
In the region there operateseveral average timber industry enterprises:
- Essoilskaya PMK-10 joint-stock company (director Dmitry A.Nazarchuk, tel. (81456)-33578): it is logging 11,0 thousand cubic meters of timber a year;
- LESECONORD, Ltd., (director general Aulis Tuohimaa Ejnari, tel. (81456)-31666): it is logging 60,0 thousand cube. Meters of wood;
- Stroidom, Ltd., (director Svetlana L.Gailin, ph. (81456)-32148): it is logging 20,0 thousand cubic meters of timber;
- Karelfinles, Ltd., (head of structural division Roman I.Zhikharev, tel. (814560-31671): it is logging 30,0 thousand cubic meters of timber;
- Komileszagotprom Joint-Stock Company (director general Nikolay S.Andrushchak, tel. 921-2236400; head Pryazha division Alexey V.Martemianov, tel. 921-2241300): it is logging 20,0 thousand cubic meters of timber.
Lagoda, Ltd., produces ferroconcrete items, building materials of foam concrete (director Pavel P.Kalinin, tel. (81456)-33572).
Today enterprises of fish breding, the new branch of agriculture, gain strength in the region; they specialize in artificial trout breeding:

The region has a good traffic network in the extent of 456 km.
It includes:
- site of М18 St.Petersburg-Murmansk (Kola) road of federal value in the length of 56 km;
- sites of highways of republican value: Petrozavodsk - Suojärvi, Pryazha - Värtsilä (Lemetti)
Within 10 years construction on sites of Pryazha - Värtsilä motor road proceeds for bringing them to correspondence with requirements of international standards.
Road maintenance is carried out by Pryazha road repair and building department State Unitary enterprise of the RK Most (director Erik V.Matikainen, tel. (81456)-31243, -31563)
Alongside with usual telecommunication there are presented services of cellular communication operators of Megaphone, Bee-Line and MTS, which cover entire territory of the region with their network.
In 2007 there will be completed construction of unique pipeline which is laid over the bottom of Pryazhinskoye lake to provide pure potable water supply from natural underground deposit into the houses of Pryazha urban-type settlement residents.
Trade is presented by consumers cooperative society enterprises, municipal enterprises, and private enterprises.
